MerikarviaThe municipality opens its doors to Satakunta – welcome to work Merikarviathere!

With the TE service reform, services that promote employment were transferred to the municipalities at the turn of the year. So what does this mean in practice? MerikarviaThe municipality is opening its doors to Satakunta and international arenas by promoting the meeting of job seekers and employers with completely new recipes. A service point will open for the municipal office in the near future and there is plenty of momentum in other arenas as well.

MerikarviaThe municipality will be participating in two recruitment fairs in February, and the municipality hopes that both entrepreneurs and job seekers from the area will come in large numbers to get to know each other. On February 4, 2025, from 10 am to 1 pm, you can find us at the international evening Rekry Boost fair in the Agora hall of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences. This is where employees from the tourism, accommodation and restaurant sectors will meet.

In addition, the municipality and its companies will present themselves at the TUUKS TÖIHIN? recruitment event in Puuvilla, Pori, on February 13.2.2025, 12, from 15 to 40. The fair is a great place for job seekers to get to know the area's employers and the jobs they have to offer. TUUKS TÖIHIN! Over XNUMX employing organizations are participating in the fair. So now is the time to polish your resumes and job applications and get going, Hatanpää advises.

The questioner does not get lost

We will have our municipal office service point fully operational this spring and cooperation with Kela will continue to be close, Hatanpää says. Our service point can be found at the municipal office at Kaupptie 40 and is open by appointment on Tuesdays. Although our service point is not open every day, in addition to the actual service expert, you can ask both Aaltonen and me for advice, Hatanpää says.

There are more jobs available than usual during the summer.

MerikarviaThere is more work available than usual, especially in the summer. The municipality itself and many companies need extra hands. There are many opportunities, especially for young seasonal workers, says Welfare Manager Eetu Aaltonen. Merikarvia It is a cottage municipality, there is also industry and seasonal work in tourism services, Aaltonen advises – summer comes once a year, he laughs.

The number of residents actually doubles during the summer months, Aaltonen says. She coordinates the services for private customers in the municipality. Development Manager Sari Hatanpää is responsible for business services. At the fair, we of course represent both the municipality as an employer and the companies in our area, she says. We actively inform entrepreneurs about the financial services available, help with applications if necessary and, of course, refer them to other support services if necessary, Hatanpää says. There are plenty of these in Satakunta, Hatanpää suggests. At the fair, we talk about job openings for both companies and ourselves. Together, this thing works, Hatanpää sums up.
