Free care supplies ordered from the Satakunta welfare area will now be ordered by phone or via a new electronic service. The reform will centralize and standardize care supply distribution throughout the province. This will provide customers with good, professional and consistent service regardless of their place of residence or the customer's service needs.
The distribution of care supplies will be centralized starting from January 5, 2026. With the centralization, the distribution of care supplies at the municipal social welfare points will cease. The distribution points will be closed due to relocation from December 29, 2025 to January 4, 2026.
In the future, customers can order care supplies by phone or electronically. Ordering and delivery methods have previously varied depending on the municipality in which the customer lives.
– Ordering and delivery methods have been varied. Previously, care product distribution experts have not been available in every municipality, so the level of service has varied greatly, says the head of the responsible unit Sami Paavilainen.
In the future, a customer living at home or someone acting on their behalf can place an order either by phone by calling the care product service or from the Palse system online. The first order is always made by phone so that the customer gets access and instructions to the electronic system.
– The Palse system is easy to use. It remembers the customer's previous orders. The customer is provided with instructions on how to use the electronic system when placing their first order, assures Paavilainen.
Delivery close to home
Once the order has been placed, the care supplies will be delivered to the customer's preferred Posti pickup point. The customer can choose a pickup point that is easy to get to and where they usually do business. In the future, there is no need to drive to the social welfare office or social welfare center to pick up the supplies themselves. The delivery time is 1–2 weeks, and the supplies can be picked up five days after notification of arrival.
Orders should be placed when supplies are still available for two weeks. The order can also be delivered to the Pori Satasairaala pickup machine, where it can be picked up within 1–3 days. Care supplies that are included in the home delivery range will be delivered to the customer's home within 3–5 days.
When it's time to order supplies
When a customer needs to order care supplies after January 5, 2026, they or someone acting on their behalf should first call the phone number 02 621 3756 (weekdays 9 a.m.–12 p.m.), which has a call-back service. The customer will be called back no later than the next business day.
You can also submit a contact request by email to hoitotarvikepalvelu@sata.fiThe message must include the customer's name and place of residence, as well as the telephone number where they wish to be contacted.
The first order is placed by phone with a care product service professional. In the future, the customer can choose whether to place the order through the Palse system or to place the order by calling. The callback service is open on weekdays from 9 am to 12 pm.
The Palse system is always open. A professional will process the order no later than the next business day. All product information required for the order is available in the system, the customer only needs to select the products to be ordered and add the required quantity. The system also allows you to track the progress of the order.
– The system requires strong authentication, meaning you log in to the page with your bank credentials or mobile certificate. A loved one can also place an order on the customer's behalf with their own bank credentials, Paavilainen specifies.
If the customer's digital identification is not possible, i.e. the customer does not have online banking credentials or a mobile certificate, the customer can make an authorization at a service point in the welfare area. Making an authorization requires the authorizing party to visit the service point in person. The authorizing party, i.e. the customer, decides who is authorized to act on their behalf, for what matters and for what period of time.
Care supplies for home care and service home customers are ordered and delivered by the care staff. Orders are made using the care supplies service order form, which is sent as an encrypted email to hoitotarvikepalvelu@sata.fi.
