Antti Ahlstrom (1827 – 1896) was a powerful man of his time who made his career with sawmills and ironworks, leaving behind one of the largest fortunes in Finland. MerikarviaBorn in 1850, Ahlström owned the Lankosken Isotalo between 1850 and 1872. Now you have a unique opportunity to take a peek inside this privately owned house built in the 1830s. In the same courtyard there is also a vaulted cellar under the protection of the Finnish Antiquities Authority. The current owners of the house, Anne and Jukka Ruissalo, also renovated the Lankosken Mylly, built in 1835, into a café.
