Sea trips
Step aboard, let the wind run through your hair, and feel the pulse of nature’s rugged beauty.
On a sea trip through the northern landscape of the Bothnian Sea National Park, an experienced boat captain takes the group through the shoals and the species-rich archipelago to the open sea. The atmosphere of Ouraluoto exudes the life of the pilots of old, as inscriptions carved by the pilots can still be seen on the stones around the island. The island has a touch of glamour, namely Logan Place, one of the island's outdoor toilets, is named after Katherine Kelly Lang, aka Brooke Logan from The Bold and the Beautiful. She used an outdoor toilet for the first time in her life on Ouraluoto. Brooke was later asked what she liked most about Finland. The film star had replied that it was those deserted islands at sea.
A pilot station operated on Ouraluoto between 1851 and 1968, but today the island is owned by the municipality as a public recreation area.
The sea and the island are often windy even in summer, so it is worth remembering to dress warmly. The Oura archipelago is part of the Natura 2000 protection network. In order to preserve the delicate and beautiful nature and vegetation, boardwalks and paths should be used primarily when walking on the islands.
Fires are only allowed at designated campfire sites. Garbage and waste must be removed from the islands.
Please respect the native vegetation, birdlife, and the peace and landscape of nature.
