MerikarviaThe municipality is involved in the regional waste management company Keräämö. The collection service covers the areas of Pori, Ulvila, Kokemäki, Harjavalta, Nakkila, Merikarvian, a municipal waste management company jointly owned by Pomarkku and Siikainen. The company began operations on 1.4.2023 April 2023. The collection center organizes the municipal waste management services for 120 residents in these municipalities. The services include, among others, organizing the transportation of recyclable waste from the end of 000, sorting stations, recycling points, reception of hazardous waste and waste advice. We want to help our residents see the ease of recycling and understand the importance of the matter. The municipal landfill is the Hangassuo Waste Center (address Sorttiasemantie 36, 29100 EURAJOKI).

The annual property-specific eco-fee covers the costs of receiving and processing household hazardous waste, as well as the costs of managing and maintaining recycling points.

Recycling points

MerikarviaRinki eco-points are located at Kauppatie 51, S-market and Varvintie 9. You can report to Rinki if the tank is full or broken, or if the eco-point needs cleaning and maintenance. Link to the customer service page: Customer service – Rinkiin.fi.

Waste reception at Krookka sorting station

The Krookka sorting station accepts household waste. (Address Satamatie 27, Merikarvia):

Opening hours: Wednesdays 10 am-12 pm and the first Saturday of every month 1 am-10 pm.
(During the winter season, November-March, only on Wednesdays of even-numbered weeks and on the 1st Saturday of each month.)

All waste that is not accepted at the Krookka sorting station must be delivered to the Hangassuo waste center. If you need help with transportation, you can order a paid pickup service from the Collection Center. More information www.keraamo.fi/noutopalevle/

Note:

• The acceptance of energy waste at the wastewater treatment plant has ended.
• The treatment plant does not accept construction waste, sinks or toilet bowls.
• Both dried and flowing paint are hazardous waste. A cleaned paint can belongs, depending on the material, either in scrap metal or mixed waste.
• Paintbrushes and brushes belong in mixed waste.
• Only fluorescent lamps, energy-saving lamps and LED lamps are accepted for electrical appliances. Incandescent lamps and halogen lamps are included in mixed waste.

Plastic packaging collection

The plastic packaging collection container is located behind the S-market at the Rinki eco-point. (Address: Kauppatie 51). You can also take cardboard and glass packaging, small metal, paper and clothing to the eco-point.

Twigs and branches

Twigs, branches and raking waste can be freely taken to the reception point located in Tuulikinmäki, visit Chew Patty 5.

Property waste management

All properties must be connected to organized waste transportation. The transportation contract is made with the waste transportation company itself.

These two waste containers as shown in the picture at the end of the Collection Gate are intended for use by cottage residents. The condition for using the waste container is that the cottage resident has first made a waste management agreement with Veikko Lehti for the use of the waste container for cottage residents. The key to the waste container lock can be obtained from the municipal office against a receipt or other proof that verifies the waste management agreement paid to Veikko Lehti. The waste container doors must always be locked to prevent unauthorized use.
