Peipu Paper's exhibition is a credit to the city Merikarvian dialect – the exhibition highlights Merikarviadialect in a modern way, utilizing visuals.

Behind Peipun Paper is Jenni Vohlakari, a marketing entrepreneur from Peipun. She has listened carefully to the dialect used by her family and to the colloquial expressions familiar to all Merikarvia residents. She has absorbed from them the interest in passing on the heritage, also getting younger generations interested in their own dialect. The idea for the project has been brewing in the busy housewife's mind for a while now, and now it's time to bring her beloved home dialect and culture closer to the present day through social media.

"I have collected sayings from different places. Many of them have been in use in our family for a long time. Some are things I remember hearing at home or in the speech of the villagers as early as my childhood. They have stayed with me into adulthood."

Dialect collection probably began with Joel Itäkylä, who left behind a treasure trove of traditional knowledge. Kerttu Pollari has also drawn inspiration from this for her dialect books, which Merikarvia-the club is
delivered.

"I have also become familiar with dialect books and have occasionally picked up funny, perhaps even lost, sayings from them. They work well with the interesting color scheme and minimalist look of the illustrations."
