According to a decision made by the Regional State Administrative Agency for Southwest Finland (AVI) on December 29, extensive corona restrictions will continue MerikarviaAccording to the new regulation, supervised recreational activities for minors (born in 2004 or after) can, however, resume from January 1st.

Based on sections 58 and 58g of the Infectious Diseases Act recent AVI decision is a continuation of previous restrictions, which prohibited public events and closed municipal services. The previous decision is valid until December 31st, and the new decision will come into effect on January 1st, 2022. Children's and young people's supervised leisure activities can therefore continue on the first day of next year. During the New Year's celebration, the municipal facilities are closed over the weekend, so shifts will start again on Monday, January 3rd.

Activities classified as professional sports may also continue. Adult recreational activities cannot be carried out indoors. AVI mainly classifies as professional sports activities activities that are professional sports based on a series license agreement or an Olympic Committee athlete agreement, or A-national team activities without the presence of an audience. Teaching for minors and adults studying Finnish at the community college will normally begin the week of January 10.1.2022, 17.1.2022, and other courses will begin on January XNUMX, XNUMX. The library will still be open and the youth center will open as planned at the beginning of the year.

Public events are still prohibited regardless of the number of participants. The regulations cannot be circumvented with a corona passport. Statutory services such as libraries and youth centers can still be open. However, public events may not be organized in these facilities regardless of the number of participants.
