School transportation issues

According to Section 32 of the Basic Education Act, a student in preschool and basic education is entitled to free school transport based on the length of the journey to school or, alternatively, to transport support if their journey to school is longer than five kilometers.

Merikarviaaccording to a decision made by the municipal council MerikarviaIn the municipality, free school transport is arranged for preschool and first and second grade students of comprehensive school, if their journey to school is more than three kilometers long.

Applications must be submitted separately for preschool, primary school (grades 1-6) and secondary school (grades 7-9). Applications for school transport are made through Wilma.
