The opening hours of the Tiiliruukki sorting station at the collection center will be expanded from Monday 6.5 May. The sorting station will receive household waste on weekdays from 9 am to 17 pm, Monday to Friday, and on summer Saturdays from 9 am to 13 pm. The arrival of spring is visible at the sorting stations, when customers visit twice as many times as during winter days. The pace picks up in the summer months, when visitor numbers are at their peak.
The first Saturday opening of the year is May 11.5, when, in addition to normal reception services, a free composting course will be organized at the Tiiliruukki sorting station from 10 am to 12 pm. The collection center's biowaste assistants will help with questions related to biowaste collection and container selections, which are on display in the yard of the sorting station.
During warehouse cleaning, various hazardous waste is often found. It is very important that hazardous waste is not placed in mixed waste or in the sewer, but is delivered to a separate collection point designated for it. Several hazardous waste collections and rotating collections will be organized in the collection area in May. Read more
