Washing of biowaste containers has begun

According to waste management regulations, biowaste containers must be washed at least twice a year. The collection center takes care of the washing in spring and autumn, and these two washings are included in the biowaste container emptying fee. We try to schedule the washings to the normal emptying rhythm of the container, but in some cases, the emptying occurs at a different time from the normal emptying rhythm. The collection center's contractors organize the washings regionally and, depending on the availability of equipment, at a schedule that best suits them. For this reason, we are unable to predict and announce in advance which area will be washed at which time.

How are garbage cans washed?

  • The dishes are washed from the inside in a car wash, leaving the washing water in the car's tank.
  • The outside of the dishes is washed with a pressure washer.
  • Washing cleans the largest dirt from the biowaste container.
  • No brush or detergent is used for washing.

Changes in biowaste disposal routes

The number of biowaste bins has changed in different areas due to composting and the clarification of the number of users of biowaste bins. In some areas, the number of bins has increased, while in others the number has decreased. Due to these changes, biowaste emptying routes are being optimized, which may affect the emptying day or week.
