Hair Fever in the Sea of Colors | Kleopatra Kallio & Studio Selena
Gallery Old Smoke 10.6.-20.7.2025

Hair Fever in the Sea of Colors brings together two artists whose works glow with joy and sensual energy. Studio Selena's tufted rugs and Kleopatra Kallio's paintings meet in this sweet terrain of the Sea of Colors, where colors play freely and the characters charm with their softness and personality.

Animals, plants and other furry creatures peek out from the works, taking the viewer to the sunny coast of the Värimere. The end result is an exhibition where wildness and gentleness run side by side, whispering captivating stories.

Soft surfaces and splashing brushstrokes create a playful and profound exhibition, where the viewer can enjoy a visual feast and feel the fur fever of the Sea of Colors.

Dive deep into the Sea of Colors and indulge in a charming journey!

Cleopatra Rock
Drawing inspiration from the archipelago landscapes of Reposaari, artist Kleopatra Kallio's graphic animal figures and delicious fruit arrangements bring a breath of the sun-drenched island's mental landscape. Merikarvialle. The works combine the simplicity of folk art, the bright colors of pop art and a minimalistic formal language. The visually playful animal figures emphasize clear lines, contrast and joy. The works are joyfully expressive and easily approachable. “The paintings are born from emotion and the moment. Although there is something familiar in each of the figures, each figure is unique, carrying its own story. When painting fruit arrangements, thoughts are allowed to flow freely – the brush leads softly and the mind wanders calmly, floating towards the finished work.”
