Expansion work at Tiiliruukki sorting station is progressing

The expansion work of the Tiiliruukki sorting station building is progressing as planned and on schedule. The foundation castings for the extension section of the office building have been completed, and hollow core slabs will be installed on the site next week. The main contractor for the extension section is MVR-Yhtymä.

Jaakko Nirhamo, CEO of the collection, says The construction work has been carried out well and according to plan. The construction site has been fenced off to its own area so that the daily operations of the sorting station are disrupted as little as possible and customer service can continue normally. “However, during the installation of the hollow core slabs, the delivery of the wall elements and the roof trusses, we will have to close customer traffic for a few days for the safety of our customers. During this time, there will be a lot of heavy traffic in the area, such as cranes and large trucks, which need space to work,” Nirhamo says.

Exceptions to opening hours

Tiiliruukki sorting station is closed from customers Tue 26.8. and Mon 8.9-Tue 9.9. Household waste is normally collected at the Hangassuo waste center, which is located only about a 10-minute drive from Tiiliruukki. The waste center is open on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 18.00 p.m.
